The supply of gas and electricity stopped.
Some Japanese people staying in Hawaii said that such shock was just the 4th stage in the Japanese seismic scale. The four-stage earthquakes happen once or twice a year in Tokyo. So Japanese people are not so nervous. On this island, 6 hours or more has passed since the earthquake, but electricity has still not restored and many people are standing in a long line in front of supermarkets or fast food restaurants for the meal.
