Guessing wrong sometimes happens and sometimes leads to a problem. The followings are the examples.
I made an appointment with a friend of mine the other day. She told me that she would wait for me in front of "B1" entrance of Mitsukoshi department store. So I was waiting at the subway's B1 entrance to the Mitsukoshi department store. But she was waiting at the entrance of Mitsukoshi department store on the first basement. If there were only "A" signs, say, A1, A2, A3, I would not have misunderstood B1. But Ginza station is so big that many subway lines cross and there are "B" entrances and even "C" entrances.
