As you know, regarding Chinese language, Mandarin and Cantonese are the same in writing. But the pronunciation is different each.

It is true of Swiss German. Swiss people speak German, Italian and French in each area. For example, in the area near Germany such as Zurich, they speak German. Their German is the same as the standard German in writing, but Swiss dialect is much different in pronunciation. It is hard for German people to understand Swiss German. It is very interesting for me.

Tokyo people could not understand Osaka high school girls¡Ç talk on the train. They speak Osaka dialect very fast. Whenever I come back to Kansai, I could not understand their talk on the first day. But I get accustomed to the speed on the next day.
