Recently I have moved to a new apartment. The area where I move is easy to live in. There are many shops and restaurants including a big shopping mole. It has easy access of the center of Tokyo. The bran new building is clean and its facilities are useful to live. However, the heating and lighting cost is very high.
The rent has increased, but I think I bought a good environment. Someone may value other things more, such as nature, silence, area zoned against entertainment and amusement trades, educational district and so on. But I hate to take a lot of time for everyday commute to the office. It is unacceptable for me to take a bus from the subway station.    |

 Recently I happened to have a dog. It is my first time to keep a dog in my life. Of course I don't know how to keep a dog at all. Now I am studying about dogs. My friends who keep a dog tell me about everything A to Z, but it seems very difficult. The name of the black pug is Noir-Noir. Noir means black in French. He is two years old. His weight is 7kg. Almost all black pugs seem to be male because of inferior DNA. Noir-Noir is very demanding like a human baby. Every two hours I need to wake up. Because I had never kept a dog, I have had various culture shocks. I thought that dogs should be kept outside in the yard like Pochi in Sazae-san, TV drama. |

日本語で失礼・・。
しばらく、仕事とプライベートが忙しくて英語日記をお休みしていました。会社では毎日のように英語（ビジネス英語）を書いていたのですが、接待でビジネス英語から離れた時に、「いかんいかんこのままでは」とやる気と必要性を感じます。 それは、決して自分の思うことをとっさに１００％伝えられない悔しさではなくて（その時はどうせ自分は日本人なんだし、海外にいるわけではないので所詮無理なのは当たり前だと開き直っている・・）、他の日本人（外資系の社員）が自分よりも流暢に話すのを聞いたときです。（笑） 外国人接待ディナーで先方のアテンドで来ている日本駐在員の日本人が話す英語を聞くと、モチベーションがグーんとアップします。もちろん彼らは毎日英語を話せる環境にいるわけですから、できるのは当たり前なのですが、それでも自分の中に「いかんいかん、このままでは」という気持ちがわいてきます。 ビジネス英語は仕事で使っていれば簡単なのですが、日常会話となると内容が多岐にわたり、ニュースや知識を日々「英語で（英字新聞や英語ニュース）」吸収していなければ、とっさに話題についていくには厳しいものがありますね。自分の趣味の話ならともかくも、話題が政治・経済、サイエンス、歴史などにおよぶと。 また少しずつ時間を見つけて英語を書いていこうかな・・と思う今日この頃です。 |
